Current affairs are pretty crazy at the moment and it’s times like these when you really just need a laugh. Thankfully, Asia House is holding a comedy night on Thursday 18th May and you can get your tickets here.
Taking the stage are two very talented and award-winning Asian comedians, Yuriko Kotani and Bilal Zafar!
Japanese comedian Yuriko Kotani’s comedy is largely based on the difference between the country of her birth and adopted nation, the UK. She was nominated for the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year in 2016 and previously won the 2015 BBC Radio New Comedy Award, as well as named ‘One to Watch’ by Time Out. She also appeared on series 2 of Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central in 2016.
Bilal Zafar will be performing his debut solo show, Cakes, which he took to the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and was nominated for the Best Newcomer Award. He was recently nominated as Best Newcomer at the 2017 Chortle Award and won the 2016 New Act of the Year Award. His stand-up tackles Islamophobia and there are apparently free cakes at every show…
This promises to be a hilarious night in the centre of London, so don’t miss this one!
